Hair Coloring
Demi-Permanent Color
Demi-permanent color is often used for blending gray hair, darkening natural hair, or enhancing your color without making a major commitment. It doesn’t contain ammonia, so it's gentler on your hair, and it gradually fades over time. This option is great if you’re looking to touch up your current color, go darker, or add a different tone to your current color.
Permanent Color
Permanent hair color is the most long-lasting option, providing a rich, deep color that doesn’t fade away with washes as quickly. It works by penetrating the hair shaft and changing the color from the inside out. This type of color covers gray hair fully and is perfect if you want to change your color significantly or have a more permanent result. While it’s more durable, it requires touch-ups as your roots grow out.
Vivid Color
Vivid colors are often semi-permanent or direct colors. They do not penetrate the hair shaft. Instead, it coats the hair strands with color. These colors typically consist of bright, unnatural colors (Pink, Blue, Green, Purple, etc.). Upkeep for vivid hair color often requires washes with cold water, longer time between washes, and caution with hot tools.
Important Note:
Color does not lift color! While permanent hair color may be able to lift your natural hair color by a small amount, it will not lift artificial color.
Hair Lightening
When going from dark to light, this process takes time in order to protect the integrity of your hair. Highlighting can be done in order to add dimension to your hair. You can choose from a full or partial highlight. Full highlights are done throughout the entire head while partial highlights are done more on the outside where the hair is visible, mimicking a full highlight without the commitment. Balayage is also an option that allows for a more customized, less uniform result, with lighter strands focusing on the mid-lengths and ends of the hair. Highlights or Balayage are a great way to start the process of going from dark to light!
When transitioning from dark hair to light hair, it is important to keep the health of your hair in mind. If you want platinum blonde or light blonde hair, you need to expect that process to take weeks or even months. Compromising your hair in such a way can cause breakage, brittle hair, and hair loss if not done in a proper time frame. Healthy blonde hair is possible, if you take the proper steps and time.
Upkeep of blonde hair is very important. It may include specific shampoos and conditioners, treatments, and extreme caution with hot tools.
